Exness is a popular broker with traders in Pakistan, the Gulf and many other regions, and many of them want an Exness trading bot that trades their plan while they work or sleep. The good news is that you do not need to code an Expert Advisor. This guide explains how to connect Exness to trading bot software through MetaTrader 5, what to check before going live, and how to keep risk under control.
What an Exness trading bot can trade
With CT Products, Exness is connected through MetaTrader 5 (MT5). That gives the bot access to the instruments in your Exness MT5 account, including:
- Forex pairs such as EUR/USD, GBP/USD and USD/JPY
- Gold (XAU/USD)
- Indices
- Crypto CFDs
Your money stays in your own Exness account. The bot only sends orders to your MT5 account, and every order on Exness MT5 is sent together with its stop-loss, so the stop is held at the broker from the start.
Before you connect, a quick checklist
Prepare these items first:
- An Exness MT5 account. You can start with a demo account if you want to practise the connection.
- Your MT5 login details: account number, password and the server name shown in your Exness personal area.
- A simple strategy idea written in plain words.
- Your risk numbers: how much you are willing to lose per trade and per day.
Keep your login details private. In CT Products they are stored encrypted.
How to connect Exness to trading bot software, step by step
Here is how to connect Exness to trading bot software like CT Products. Menu labels may change slightly over time.
- Start your free trial at portal.ctproducts.org. Every plan begins with 14 days on practice money.
- Open the brokers section and choose Exness (MetaTrader 5).
- Enter your MT5 account number, password and server exactly as shown by Exness. A wrong server name is the most common reason a connection fails.
- Choose paper mode first. Each broker can run live or paper.
- Set your risk limits for this broker, including Exness leverage (see the table below).
- Write your strategy on the story board and review the rule cards.
- Backtest on Exness's past prices with its own fees and slippage.
- Run on paper and watch the results before switching to live.
Our Exness trading bot page has more about this connection, and how it works explains the full flow.
Writing your first Exness strategy
On the story board, describe your rules in plain words. You can attach chart screenshots or PDFs if that helps explain the idea. A first example:
"Trade EUR/USD on the 1-hour chart. Buy when the 20 EMA is above the 50 EMA and price closes back above the 20 EMA after a pullback. Sell in the opposite case. Stop-loss 1.5 times ATR. Take profit at 2 times the risk. No more than 2 trades per day."
The AI agent turns this into rule cards using indicators such as SMA, EMA, RSI, ATR, VWAP, Bollinger Bands and daily standard-deviation levels. The rules are then checked in code at every candle close, with no AI call per candle, so AI costs stay low. Many Exness users also trade gold; our guide to Exness algo trading and gold bots covers that in detail.
Risk settings for your Exness trading bot
Leverage on CFDs can magnify losses as well as gains, so set limits before the first trade. In CT Products, limits are set per broker, in money:
| Setting | What it controls | Starting idea |
|---|---|---|
| Risk per trade | Money lost if the stop-loss is hit | A small fraction of the account |
| Largest position | Maximum lot size | Keep it low at first |
| Daily loss limit | Stops new trades for the day | Two to three times risk per trade |
| Open trades | Positions at once | One to three |
| Trades per day | Over-trading control | Match your strategy |
| Stop-loss distance | Realistic stop range | Based on ATR |
| Exness leverage | Leverage used on MT5 | Lower than the maximum offered |
A hard cap ensures no single trade risks more than 5% of the account. A kill switch closes all trades instantly. Read drawdown control for small accounts if you are starting with a small balance.
Troubleshooting common connection problems
The bot cannot log in
Check the account number, password and especially the server name. Copy them directly from your Exness personal area.
The strategy does not trade
Use the "Will it trade?" check. It explains why a strategy would or would not trade right now, for example because a condition is not met or a risk limit has been reached.
Trades look different from the backtest
Live spreads and slippage vary, especially around news. Compare a meaningful number of paper trades with the backtest before drawing conclusions.
Monitoring after you go live
When paper results look sensible, switch Exness to live with the same or smaller limits. Then:
- Turn on the trade alarm to know when a trade opens.
- Use the live trade chart to see entry, stop-loss, take-profit and the money at stake at each level.
- Review trade history with the reason for every entry and exit; export to Excel or PDF.
- On Pro and above, self-healing can pause and retrain a strategy after a losing streak or drawdown.
The app works in a browser on phone, tablet or computer, with no install, in six languages including English and Arabic.
